On 29th November, the Lassus Scholars (adult choir) and Piccolo Lasso (children’s choir) put on a wonderful evening of seasonal music at St Brigid’s Church, Killester. The concert raised over €2,000 for the painting of St. Brigid’s Church which celebrates its centenary in 2026.

The evening started with the chorus singing Handel’s Zadok the Priest, followed by a number of solos and audience carols. Soloists included Dr Samantha Sandy (Soprano); Sinead Cosgrove (Soprano) and Daithí ó Nuanáin (Baritone). Daithí performed a Norwegian carol, Over the Hills, which he dedicated to John Caulfield, a member of the Killester Church Choir who recently passed away.

During the evening many favourites were sung including Away in a Manger; Adeste Fideles; Ding Dong! Merrily on High!; and O Holy Night. The evening ended with the Hallelujah Chorus.

A big thank you to the choirs, soloists, Dublin Choral Foundation, musicians and those who supported and were involved in the organisation of this wonderful event.
